WELCOME
Welcome to 2023 POMS International Conference in China.
As an influential international organization, POMS (Production and Operations Management Society) has developed rapidly in recent years. With the development of China's reform and opening up, Chinese scholars have achieved academic breakthroughs in the field of POM, combining with the featured issues in production and operations in China. The typical issues in China’s manufacturing and service industries also bear the characteristics of the time. The proposition and solution for these issues will provide scientific and effective guidance, as well as reference, to the social and economic development in countries all around the world.
With the approval of POMS board in 2018, four leading Chinese business schools initiated the POMS International Conference in China, which is one of the regional POMS International Conference Series. The inaugural POMS International Conference in China was held successfully in June 2019 in Tianjin University. In 2022, the second conference was hosted by Xi’an Jiaotong University. This year, 2023 POMS International Conference in China will be organized by Zhejiang University.
Zhejiang University is one of China’s top higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest; its roots can be traced back to 1897 and the founding of the Qiushi Academy. Established in 1999, the School of Management at Zhejiang University (ZJU-SOM) is a leading business school and pioneer in management education in China. ZJU-SOM conducts teaching and research in two first-tier disciplines under the Chinese Ministry of Educations disciplinary catalog. In 2017, the school’s flagship Program of Management Science and Engineering, which is closely related with POMS fields, was selected into the list of First-Class Programs under the national “Double World-Class Project”.
The conference theme of this year is “Digital Intelligence Management and Sustainable Development”. We hope that the conference will provide a broader and more convenient platform for more Chinese scholars in the field of POMS to have academic exchange and communication and provide abundant opportunities for scholars from all over the world to carry out diversified cooperation and exchange in China as well.
